Kick-Ass: New X-Men director vows to improve on Ratner's horrid movie
Salty The Beast from "Kick-Ass"
The next installment of the X-Men franchise, a prequel titled X-Men: First Class that will explore the origins of the feud between Professor X and Magneto, found its Director — Kick-Ass' Michael Vaughn.
The British-born producer/director (and husband of Claudia Schiffer) co-wrote and directed the hysterically funny — and incredibly violent — Kick-Ass superhero flick, giving him necessary comic book cred. He was previously in talks to direct X-Men: The Last Stand, but was ultimately dropped in favor of Brett Ratner.
He says of his prior almost-involvement: "No offense to Ratner, but I just felt that [X-Men: The Last Stand] needed more heart. That's what I thought was missing. I was a little bit shocked when I saw it."
Looks like he'll be getting his chance now. What do you think of the choice of director?
