Free Press Summer Fest adds more big names to its Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelsonlineup
If an amazing (and disparate) headlining triad — the Avett Brothers, Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson — plus an initial lineup including dozens of musicians from Houston and abroad didn't reel you in for the annual Free Press Summer Fest, the new additions surely will.
On Thursday, the fest announced a handful of touring artists: Pretty Lights, Dallas diva Erykah Badu, Fitz and the Tantrums, Phantogram, David Garza and Dutch DJ R3hab, plus Sister Crayon, Vanaprasta, Sundress, Last Year's Men, the Big Sleep, Chelsea Wolfe and Bobby Burns.
Local additions include the New York City Queens, Bang Bangs, Black Coffee, Bart Black, DJ Bizz, Pale, Manichean, East Cameron Folkcore, DJ G. Wizz, Bombon, Los Skarnales, DJ FREDster, DJ SUN & Resolution, the Wheel Workers, Immigrant Punk, the Grass Skirts, Rusted Shut, Future Blonds, Black Leather Jesus, Giant Battle Monster, Escatones, Papaya, Clockpole, Lazer Cuntzz, Jody Seabody and the Whirls, Poopy Lungstuffing, the Annoysters, David Leibe Hart, GoREALah Soul, Demonic Hen, Black Magic Marker, the Anarchitex, Darwin's Finches and Muzak John.
So, clearly, something for everyone during the two-day fest, which takes over Eleanor Tinsley Park on the weekend of June 2 and 3.
Tickets range from $75 (general admission) to $1000 (a "high roller" package for two), and FPSF says they're going fast. Get them here.
