CultureMap Stories of the Week
Sandra Bullock is a CultureMap favorite, but we are partial to jury duty
Everyone loves Sandra Bullock — especially CultureMap readers, who found the news of the actress's secret adoption of a New Orleans infant an irresistible story. Bullock snared two of the top three spots of the week's most popular stories. And another story, Caroline Gallay's report on Bullock's New Orleans divorce lawyer, added to the fascination.
Two of our favorite stories had to do with — of all things — jury duty. Steven Thomson detailed plans for a new Harris County jury assembly room with drop-down projector screens and free Wi-Fi while Caroline Gallay described her enjoyable jury duty experience in Harris County Justice of the Peace Dale Gorczynski's courtroom, where she watched him perform weddings while they waited. Also of note: James Baker's 80th birthday celebration, Allison Monteith's greener life and the top 10 bread puddings in town.
