Steve Tyrell to film a DVD and record a live album at the Grand 1894 Opera House
Grammy Award-winning songman Steve Tyrell, who moved back to hometown Houston last year from his long-time perch in Los Angeles, is slowing his concert schedule for two weeks during which he'll do three cabaret shows in Texas.
Fans are already securing seats and reserving limos from Houston for the May 6 and May 7 concerts at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston where his team will be filming and recording for his upcoming DVD and live album release. Appropriately enough, the DVD and album will be titled "Home Again . . . Live at The Grand Opera House."
On May 5, Tyrell performs in Austin at The One World Theater.
These are Tyrell's first Lone Star state concerts since his marriage on Christmas to Houston-based interior designer Karen Pulaski. In recent weeks, he has been performing his cabaret concerts in New York, Maine and Arizona.
When not on the road, Tyrell is making the social rounds in Houston. You might recall the he was the high bidder on the Dallas Cowboys football autographed by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at a recent Houston charity event. That bid earned $220,000 for ESCAPE Family Resources Center.
