No Foolin'
Guns N' Roses tour reunites Axl with Slash and brings them to Houston
In perhaps the best April Fool's non-joke of all time, Guns N' Roses revealed plans for a 20-city nationwide stadium tour in 2016, including a stop at Reliant Stadium on August 5.
The appropriately-titled Not In This Lifetime Tour, will see the enigmatic Axl Rose reunited with former GN'R members Slash and Duff McKagan. They'll kick off the tour in Detroit on June 23, visiting almost exclusively NFL stadiums through August 22. They'll also play at AT&T Stadium on August 3.
The announcement follows months of rumor and speculation about a possible reunion, which hit fever pitch after it was announced Guns N' Roses would headline this year's Coachella Music & Arts Festival. In a special preview of the forthcoming tour, Axl, Slash, and Duff will return to the stage at The Troubadour in Los Angeles on April 1, the same spot where the band launched its career.
Guns N' Roses was one of the popular rock bands of the late 1980s and early '90s, hitting it big thanks to albums like Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion I and II. But Rose's eccentric behavior over the years has led to band turmoil and the interminably long wait for 2008's Chinese Democracy, their only album in the past 23 years.
Nightrain official GN'R fan club members will be notified via email with an early presale opportunity. A Citi cardmember pre-sale begins April 4 at 10 am and goes through April 7 at 10 pm through Citi Private Pass. Tickets for the general public go on sale April 8.
