Houston's music festival
Summer's hottest ticket? Free Press Summer Fest ducats selling at record rate thanks to new lineup
Less than a week after revealing the full lineup for the fifth annual Free Press Summer Festival, organizers of the big music fest say passes are selling at a "record rate" and that promotional presale prices are expected to expire fast.
It's no wonder: FPSF has assembled acts as diverse as Houston, including punk rock legends Iggy and the Stooges, recently-reunited electropop group The Postal Service, sultry singer-songwriter Cat Power and local rappers The Geto Boys, plus dozens more (and allegedly surprises to come).
That alone is enough swag to put the Bayou City on the music festival map. Add the best of local food, cold drinks, interactive art, sweltering heat and downtown views along the banks of Buffalo Bayou and you've got summertime embodied.
