After stellar reviews in New York, The Houston Symphony is taking The Planets — An HD Odyssey across the pond with a tour of seven cities in the United Kingdom this fall.
It's a fitting destination; director/producer Duncan Copp is British and composer Gustav Holst also called Great Britain home. The tour will hit Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Gateshead, Basingstoke and London in October.
Planets premiered at Jones Hall in January and then traveled to Carnegie Hall and Florida’s Kravis Center and Broward Center. It combines a breathtaking selection of planetary images with a live perfomance of Holst's The Planets.
It is the symphony's first international tour in a decade.
