Drake's Big Super Bowl Plans
Atlanta hip hop stars make Houston their Super Bowl home, thanks to Drake
Drake has long had an affinity for H-Town. So it's no surprise that he has major plans for Super Bowl weekend in the Bayou City.
The popular singer/rapper, along with his friend Young Empire Music Group CEO Jas Prince, are hosting a series of pop-up parties called "The Ballet," from Thursday (February 2) through Super Bowl Sunday (February 5), at Mercy Nightclub near downtown Houston.
Each night will be headlined by Atlanta hip-hop stars — Migos on February 2, Young Jeezy on February 3, 21 Savage on February 4, and Gucci Mane (with DJ Khaled and Lil Wayne) on February 5 — and hosted by DJs from Houston, Miami, and Atlanta. There's no doubt the singers are coming to support their beloved Falcons.
In fact, with the Atlanta Falcons a suprise contender in Super Bowl LI, a recent change.org petition has asked for the Migos to replace Lady Gaga as halftime entertainment, with Mane and Young Jeezy suggested to be among the pre-show entertainment. It has attracted nearly 50,000 signatures. The petition reads:
Very Simple, the Atlanta Falcons are in the Super Bowl and it's gonna be in Houston. Two of the TRILLEST hip hop communities under ONE ROOF. Your entertainment choices have to change RIGHT NOW.
Preshow should be Rae Sremmurd, Gucci, Goodie Mob, Luda and Young Jeezy.
Young Thug needs to sing "Guwop Home", the official anthem of Atlanta.
Andre 3000 should sing the national anthem with Erykah Badu. By sing I mean hit Donald Trump with a FIRE 64 bars.
Halftime should be Migos killing Bad and Boujee, Future kills em with March Madness, then Outkast comes out and does an AQUEMINI sampler and then they end it with BUN B and JAY Z DOING BIG PIMPIN!!!! If you're gonna put on a show for billions THIS IS THE ONLY SHOW
What's also causing some partygoers to take notice is a report in TMZ that Drake is flying curvaceous women in from all over the country to "work" the Houston parties. "We're told the dancers will be dressed provocatively but those skimpy outfits are NOT coming off," TMZ says. We're sure that's a relief to the HPD vice squad.
A final casting call is set for Monday at an undisclosed location.
Tickets range from $40 to a $10,000 for a Super VIP Section at the party on Super Bowl Night. Tickets are available here.
