1. Houston Greek restaurant reboots with fresh location and refined style. A beloved Houston restaurant’s revival began August 1, when Pappas Restaurants welcomed diners to the new Yiayia's Pappas Greek Kitchen. It's an update of Yia Yia Mary's Mediterranean Kitchen, the family’s Galleria-area Greek restaurant that closed in June 2020.
2. Houston jeweler supplies star Zac Brown with a Texas-sized diamond ring. When country superstar Zac Brown popped the question to jewelry mogul Kendra Scott on July 24, he didn't buy his ring from just any jeweler. He turned to Houston's own Valobra Master Jewelers, a longtime trusted source for custom pieces and one-of-a-kind showstoppers.

3. 9 eateries serving valuable 4-course meals for Houston Restaurant Weeks. While most Houston Restaurant Weeks participants serve three-course menus, some go above and beyond by offering four courses — or, in one case, five courses and a choice of tea.
4. Top Houston barbecue joint fires up a new location at Hobby Airport. Travelers passing through Houston’s Hobby Airport can satisfy their hunger with one of the city’s most acclaimed barbecue joints. Killen's Barbecue opened its new location at the airport on July 28.
5. 23-acre walkable mixed-use development planned for Houston suburb. The walkable city trend is getting another new development in the Greater Houston area. Kirksey Architecture broke ground on a walkable 23-acre development located in Fulshear on July 25.
