Generous Houstonians race to raise funds for family-friendly nonprofit
At the 10th annual Trafigura Run for the House benefiting Ronald McDonald House Houston, thousands of runners and even more supporters turned out to shower the amazing nonprofit with love and donations.
Frost Bank and CultureMap were also there, spreading hope and happiness with the Call Me Optimistic chalkboards and Good Vibes postcards, which attendees could personalize with inspiring messages.
The postcards will be included with care packages distributed to Houston homeless shelters during the holiday season, which guests could help assemble during the event.
Whole families (and pups, too) participated in the USATF-certified 10K and 5K run, walk, and roll, including one man who had been running the race since its inception a decade ago.
He shared that he has helped raise over $1,000 each year to give to the Ronald McDonald House, which helped him and his family during a health crisis years ago. He's now on a mission to spread happiness and positivity to those families that are currently in need of RMH Houston's services.
Up to $300,000 raised during the run was generously matched by the Trafigura Foundation. Afterward, the family-friendly after party brought about games, food, and a special appearance from Mogie and other surprise guests.
CultureMap and Frost Bank hosted plenty of these pop-up events throughout the year, surprising and delighting folks all over Texas. There are some exciting things on tap for 2020, so sign up for our emails and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for hints about what's coming up.
