Near Google worthy? Local grocery store named one of America's Best Places To Work, close behind tech king
One of Texas' most prominent companies is walking away with a major honor.
Glassdoor, a website that provides insider ratings and information from employees about the companies they work for, has revealed its seventh annual list of The Best Places To Work across the United States and United Kingdom. And Texas grocery store chain H-E-B takes the seventh spot in the Best Places To Work rankings, sitting not far behind the oft-lauded Google, which finished first. H-E-B moved up 20 spots from its ranking on last year's list.
The rankings were based on employee reviews on Glassdoor's website, meaning they were decided by the individuals who know the companies best.
Coming in just ahead of H-E-B is Chevron at No. 6. Although the oil giant is based in San Ramon, Calif., Chevron has strong ties to the energy capital that is Houston. The company moved up from the No. 14 spot on last year's list.
