Outside-the-loop is more chic than you'd think. Houston's Hotel Sorella is among the best new business hotels on this continent, according to Fortune and Wallpaper.
The two magazines teamed up to pick 15 winners in North America.
Located in the upscale development CityCentre, this luxury hotel is ideal for travelers working in the energy industry.
Though Sorella features fine dining and elegant furnishings, it's convenience in business travel that puts this hotel on the Fortune map. Its 244 guest rooms include complimentary wireless Internet, in-room work desks and bluetooth-enabled entertainment centers. The hotel also offers two private VIP boardrooms and additional function spaces at Norris Conference Center and Studio Movie Grill for corporate meetings and parties. Big Oil companies even receive free car service.
Sorella isn't the only winner in Texas; also rated among the best is Aloft Hotel in Dallas. Fortune will announce 10 worldwide winners in December.
Honors are becoming something of the norm for Sorella. It tied for the 11th best hotel in America with the vaunted Four Seasons New York in Conde Nast Traveler's Reader Choice Awards last month.
