No Halloween hangover: Day of the Dead keeps the party going and going
If you don't feel like ending the festivities on Halloween, celebrate Día de los Muertos on Saturday and keep the party going. We've rounded up the best Day of the Dead happenings in a quick guide:
Noche de los Muertos Celebración
Details: Celebrate Day of the Dead with Latin rockers La Sien and guests. Houston-based La Sien has made a name for itself by blending classic Latin-American music with jazz, blues, hard rock and funk. Drink specials will be available all night.

Fourth Annual Day of the Dead Festival
Details: With a number of drink specials on beer, tequila and margaritas, you can get your Día de los Muertos party on at El Big Bad. A special VIP luncheon includes special access to a private dining area, as well as complimentary appetizers and discounted drinks. To reserve your spot at the luncheon, please contact events@elbigbad.com. There will be live music throughout the day, including a performance by the Latin punk group Los Skarnales at 8 p.m.

27th Annual Día de los Muertos Family Day Fiesta
Details: Lawndale’s 27th annual Día de los Muertos celebration continues with a Saturday fiesta for families and children honoring participating teachers and students whose artwork can be viewed in the Cavnar and Horton galleries. Enjoy refreshments and children's activities such as decorating sugar skulls, along with performances by Houston Grand Opera, Mixteco Ballet Folklorico and Secret Admirer Puppets.

MECA's 15th Annual Día de los Muertos Festival
Details: The MECA festival is a public celebration of community folk art traditions that commemorate family and community ancestors. Festival events include a community altar exhibit (on display until Nov. 21), foods from Latin American countries, vendors selling authentic Latin American Day of the Dead arts and crafts, and live performances of music, dance and more.

Details: Head to Moderno to celebrate Día de los Muertos with happy hour specials and craft beer sampling, as well as food specials like half-priced appetizers and themed menu specials all day.
