Date night: Supermodel Kate Upton and Astros pitcher Justin Verlander enjoy a cozy H-Town dinner
As the Houston Astros prepare for their first league championship series since 2005, superstar pitcher Justin Verlander and his supermodel fiancée, Kate Upton, managed to squeeze in a night on the town, dining at Tiny Boxwoods Wednesday night.
Seated on the patio at the charming eatery with her beloved rescue boxer, Harley Upton, at their side, Kate Upton ordered the catch of the day (grouper with coconut rice) while Verlander enjoyed the Black and Blue (buffalo filet, blue cheese risotto, berry balsamic reduction). Both enjoyed a cheese and meat board to start, and chocolate cake for dessert.
Casually dressed, with Verlander wearing a backwards baseball cap, the famous duo looked happy as they spent time together before the American League Championship Series begins Friday in Houston. The six-time All-Star will start Game 2 of the ALCS against the New York Yankees on Saturday at Minute Maid Park.
Striking as the attractive pair is, more striking is that they dined uninterrupted. Verlander and Upton lingered at their table even after finishing dinner, enjoying the weather-friendly evening, along with Harley. Both dog lovers, Verlander and Upton support charitable organization K9s For Warriors, which is dedicated to providing service canines to those suffering from post-traumatic stress disability, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post-9/11.
Upton has been spotted at several Astros games supporting Verlander since he was traded to the Astros in September, including in the photo below that was taken at Minute Maid Park late last month, showing she has good taste in baseball caps. The couple has also been spotted dining at Tiny Boxwoods before.
