Frost It Forward
See how a shared meal can help build a healthy community in Houston
Gracie Cavnar envisions a world where healthy eating is the norm, and kids look forward to filling their plates with fresh foods.
She and her husband, Bob, founded Recipe for Success with the aim of eradicating childhood obesity by teaching, inspiring, and empowering healthy eating. Recipe for Success makes a game out of good-for-you diets through its popular Veg Out challenge, and it grows fresh produce at Hope Farms.
Carrie Colbert, a Recipe for Success board member and lifestyle blogger, also understands the power of a shared meal and how it can help build community. She's using a $100 Frost Bank cash card to #frostitforward and help fund the new "More Color on Your Plate" mural at Hope Farms.
Colbert's gift is all part of Frost's new campaign, Opt For Optimism, which encourages small acts of kindness that lead to a big impact in your community.
CultureMap is on board with that, so we've created a Charity Guide and an editorial series that highlights those who are giving back. We're also turning the spotlight on locals who are fostering generosity, building community, and changing perspectives.
Show how you're spreading optimism by tagging CultureMap Houston on Instagram and using the hashtag #frostitforward, and you could win some cool swag.
