Frost It Forward
Why Houston lifestyle blogger can't resist donating to a pile of puppies
Arushi Garg adopted her terrier mix Rio from Pup Squad eight years ago, and now the lifestyle blogger at The Snazzy Mom is getting a chance to thank the nonprofit with a much-needed gift.
As board member Linda Passarelli explains, Pup Squad is entirely foster-based, meaning that the puppies are kept in loving homes until they are adopted. For every $200 adoption fee, $150 goes toward the puppy's vet bills. Garg has presented Pup Squad with a $100 cash card from Frost Bank, which will help defray that cost and help keep puppies off the streets and from shelters.
Garg's gift is all part of Frost's new campaign, Opt For Optimism, which encourages small acts of kindness that lead to a big impact in your community.
CultureMap is on board with that, so we've created a Charity Guide and an editorial series that highlights those who are giving back. We're also turning the spotlight on locals who are fostering generosity, building community, and changing perspectives.
Show how you're spreading optimism by tagging CultureMap Houston on Instagram and using the hashtag #frostitforward, and you could win some cool swag.
