Backstage with Lady Gaga: Only Lynn Wyatt and her lucky friends get to share thelove
The friendship between Lady Gaga and Lynn Wyatt, born last month at Elton John's estate in the English countryside, took a leap forward Monday night when the rock star invited the social diva and friends backstage for a pre-concert schmooze.
Gaga's personal assistant was waiting outside Toyota Center prior to "The Monster Ball" performance with tickets for La Wyatt and her guests, Susie and Sanford Criner and William Middleton. After explaining that Gaga almost never does meet-and-greets, the young lady escorted the lucky foursome backstage.
They first went to a holding room where dancers and musicians gathered for early-evening food and drink. A few minutes later, they were whisked down the hall to Gaga's dressing room, where the star had just returned after warming up on an elliptical trainer.
"She came up and threw her arms around me," Wyatt said. And then Gaga did the same with everyone else in the little party. Super bang for the buck from this evening!
"Adorable" was Susie Criner's word for the 24-year-old bombshell who was wearing a Motley Crue T-shirt and floral short-shorts. (Thank you, Steve Jobs for the iPhone camera that recorded this moment.)
The visit lasted for about 15 minutes during which Gaga praised the Houston audience — many of whom turned out in costume on both performance nights.
Wyatt's guests were blown away when Gaga declared, "When I grow up, I want to be Lynn Wyatt!" (Lynn had actually heard that before — when the two were dishing in the wee morning hours at Elton John's estate.)
No surprise there. Just about all the women who know her want to be Lynn Wyatt when they grow up.
After all, how many women do you know who have personal relationships with the Rolling Stones, Bono, Elton John and now Lady Gaga. Wyatt has been invited backstage for all of these top-ranking performers. And she's broken bread with them all more than once.
