Shrink for Game 7 MVP? Ron Artest proves he's still crazy in his finest moment
I want some of whatever Ron Artest is having.
I've always had a soft spot for the former Houston Rocket, despite his fan-punching, decorative head-shaving ways and his athletic inconsistency. But after Artest said that the blame could be put on him if the Lakers lost in the NBA Finals, it was sweet to see him clinch a deciding Game 7 that Kobe Bryant grossly underperformed in (6-for-24 shooting with everything on the line) with a 3-pointer in the last minute.
But never one to fade into the background, Artest gave reporters some choice sound bites in his postgame talk. First, he thanked his "hood," the neighborhood of Queensbridge in Queens. Next, he thanked his psychiatrist — specifically for helping him to relax.
I can't even begin to speculate what kind of revelations Ron Artest digs up from deep in his psyche while reclining on "Dr. Sandy's" chaise, but I guess it doesn't much matter.
20 points, two three-pointers and five rebounds? Phil Jackson is thanking her, too.
