Apple Secret Police bested - again
Apple's latest leak city revelation: The next generation iPhone aims for iPad power
Well, at least this should take some of the heat off Gray Powell (the guy famous for losing his super secret iPhone in a bar).
Another next-generation iPhone has popped up on a tech site in Vietnam, and this one looks even more recent than the one Gizmodo dismantled in April.
Probably of interest to techies, the latest prototype is equipped with the same Apple A4 processor chip used in the iPad. Why's this significant? PCMag writes: "What is not known is whether Apple downclocked the chip below the 1-GHz used in the iPad to save power, or whether it truly has the performance of the iPad."
It's generating some buzz, but it seems Apple is losing its notorious grip on security — and experts say the economic repercussions of these leaks could be huge.
Also of note is that this latest leak seems unlike the seemingly innocent one back in March; Apple worker Powell simply forgot prototype at a bar. A Vietnamese businessman claims to have purchased this latest leak, along with an iPad, for $4,000 off the black market.
