"I hope your face hurts": Girl Scouts still not afraid of gutless crooks whostole cookie money
Update: The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council announced it will replace the stolen money. Also, the Fort Bend Country Sheriff’s Office told CultureMap it will release images from a more detailed surveillance video on Tuesday.

"Who steals from a Girl Scout? I mean, seriously? That's like the worst thing ever," senior Girl Scout cadette Rachel Johnson told KTRK Ch. 13.
Around 2 p.m. Saturday, Johnson and fellow cadette Iravia Cotton chased two thieves who stole a cash box from their Girl Scout cookie stand in front of a Fort Bend County Walmart.
"It was an adrenaline thing . . . like, you know, one of those things that you have a reaction to," Cotton told reporters. "Somebody takes your money, you are going to go for it."
A group of scouts from San Jacinto Council Troop 29512 were enjoying a profitable Saturday morning after selling $200 of Thin Mints, Tagalongs and other mind-numbingly delicious flavors from the beloved line of cookies.
"It was an adrenaline thing . . . like, you know, one of those things that you have a reaction to," Girl Scout Iravia Cotton said. "Somebody takes your money, you are going to go for it."
It was business as usual until a pair of teenaged boys rolled up in an older-model Toyota Camry. One of the young men jumped out of the car and asked about what types of cookies were available before trying to dash off with the cash box.
According to deputies from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office (FBCSO), the Girl Scouts decided to take the law into their own hands.
"I started hitting the [thief] who was in the passenger seat," explained 15-year-old Cotton. "I think he learned his lesson a little bit." Meanwhile, Johnson chased after the vehicle, latching onto its side while she was dragged several feet through the parking lot.
The burst of courage left the girls with minor injuries — a few scrapes and bruises.
"I hope your face hurts from when Iravia punched you," Johnson said.
Investigators are reviewing a rather blurry surveillance video of the crime. The suspects appear to have planned the robbery in advance, covering their license plate with a sheet of paper.
Unfortunately, after all that bravery, Girl Scout Council Troop 29512 is still responsible for the cash lost in the incident . . . So not fair.
Anyone with information about the cookie cash box robbery is asked to contact Fort Bend Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
