A staggering percentage of people admit to having sex at work: How clean is your desk?
Sorry in advance for making everyone's workday a little weirder.
In an attempt to shed light on the secret world of interoffice romance, career website Glassdoor interviewed more than 1,000 of its users on their thoughts about love and the workplace.
The results?
Well, let's just say that a staggering 12 percent of employees fully admit to having sex at work. One in five note that, while they haven't knocked boots in the office, they've thought about doing it once or twice. Almost half of those surveyed believe their colleagues have done the deed in the office.
Here are the rest of the numbers:
- 51 percent of employees and job seekers think it's fine to get romantically involved with a co-worker.
- 37 percent report they've been involved with a colleague.
- 18 percent admit they're attracted to at least one co-worker.
- 54 percent say that most office romances end with some workplace "awkwardness."
As far as workplace romance policies are concerned, employees appear to be relatively under-informed. Almost half say they're unsure about the rules, while roughly a third believe their current or most recent employer has no policy in place.
