Pix of the Day
Dogs paint pictures with their paws — and no one can get enough of the cuteness
With paints ready and canvases prepared, about 50 dogs of all shapes and sizes discovered their inner Picasso, all the while amazing owners with their newly found artistic talents at the recent Paint With Your Pet fundraiser in Hyde Park Gallery in Montrose.
Pets young and old dipped their paws in nontoxic paints and then dotted, wiped and smudged designs on paper, proudly walking away with masterpieces for their owners to take home. Volunteers used fresh water from a garden hose on site to clean the pooches' palettes.
The $25 donation per four-legged artist at the event benefits presenters Spay-Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and Art Colony Association, which produces the Bayou City Art Festival in downtown and Memorial Park each year. SNAP volunteers brought the supplies for the event, while the Art Colony Association gave welcomed water and cold drinks to attendees.
Hyde Park Gallery, A Pictures Plus Co., provided the venue.
