While the instrument petting zoo had its fans and decorating reindeer ornaments and gingerbread cookies was a popular diversion, the big attraction at the Houston Symphony Magical Musical Morning festivity was the photo opp with Santa.
The queue, to be forever commemorated with the big man in red, snaked around the ballroom of River Oaks Country Club as parents and grandparents gathered their kiddos for photographs.
More than 350 young and young-at-heart turned out for the annual holiday fundraiser that this year was chaired by Danielle and Josh Batchelor and Courtney and John Chapoton with Beth Wolff serving as grandparent chair.
In addition to the children and grandchildren of symphony patrons, 16 youngsters from the Salvation Army Family Residence were invited to join the fun which included a kid-friendly brunch of chocolate-chip pancakes and chicken strips as well as traditional brunch fare for the grown-ups.
Houston Symphony musicians and a student string quartet from Virtuosi of Houston provided musical entertainment throughout the morning.
Joining in the merry, merry were symphony fans and their children were Tricia and Lt Gov. David Dewhurst, Audrey Cochran, Betty and Jess Tutor, Joella and Steve Mach, Viviana and David Denechaud, Ting and John Bresenhan, Daniela and Manolo Sanchez, Reece and Fulton Davenport and Houston Symphony CEO Mark Hanson and wife Christina with their three sons - Christopher, Nicholas and Andrew.
