Florescence 2013: Luncheon & Floral Demonstration with Lewis Miller

eventdetail

The floral demonstration and luncheon is the highlight of Florescence. This year's speaker is the acclaimed floral designer Lewis Miller, founder of LMD New York, Lewis Miller Design.

Born and raised in California amid olive, almond and peach orchids and gardens full of cabbage roses, sweet peas and wisteria, Miller developed a respect for nature early on. At 18, he moved to Seattle where he studied horticulture and landscape design. After seven years of successfully pursuing his interests in design, flowers and event planning, Lewis moved to New York in 2000 where he worked for one of the city's top floral boutiques.

The demonstration will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Brown Auditorium Theater of the Law Building with a seated luncheon to follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Upper Brown Pavilion of the Law Building.

All proceeds from Florescence will benefit civic projects of The Garden Club of Houston and River Oaks Garden Club, as well as the museum's general operating budget.
