Houston Hospice honors H-E-B and nursing excellence at Community Spirit Award dinner
What: 18th Annual Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award Dinner.

The scoop: More than 250 people turned out to honor the work done by the Houston Hospice program. The annual event is always a touching and hopeful evening, and the 2016 dinner was no exception. Staffer LaShunda Richardson shared the importance of the work done at Houston Hospice, while the Good Samaritan Foundation awarded three nurses the Excellence in Nursing Awards.
H-E-B was honored with Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award for its commitment to the Houston Hospice mission of providing compassionate physical, social and spiritual support to individuals with a life-limiting diagnosis, and their loved ones, regardless of ethnicity or beliefs. H-E-B veep Winell Herron accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The event chaired by Sue White, raised more than $250,000.
