Houstonians can now have a bespoke boot experience at the newest outpost of Miron Crosby in River Oaks, which opens its doors on November 17. With storefronts in Aspen, Colorado, and Highland Park Village in Dallas, the Houston store marks the third boutique for the luxury boot brand.
Co-founders and sisters Lizzie Means Duplantis and Sarah Means opened Miron Crosby in 2017 and established themselves as a fashion industry trendsetter. Their boots infuse Western sensibility with avant-garde designs and vibrant hues. The brand's collection implements daring uses of metallics and foiled exotics and employs intricate techniques such as hand-inlaid, appliquéd, and detailed embellishments.
After success in Dallas, Aspen, and Florida, where the brand has a popup through May 2024, the natural next step was the Bayou City. "Houston celebrates Western culture year-round, and being here feels very authentic," co-founder Lizzie Means Duplantis said.
Designed by award-winning Dallas-based interior design firm Burkle Creative, the 1,500-square-foot boutique is spacious and luxurious. Boasting decor choices exclusive to the Houston store, the space includes a stunning mural in the foyer and vintage jewelry and unique giftables acting as merchandise and dazzling decorative items.

Co-founder Sarah Means said, "When we designed our River Oaks store, we took our time to ensure that every detail from top to bottom perfectly meshed with our brand story. It was important to us that this location not only evokes the Miron Crosby concept from a design perspective but also that it was imbued with Houston-specific touches that set it apart from our other locations but still naturally feels like an extension of our other locations."
The sisters also pay homage to the boutique's former tenant, River Oaks Bookstore. "We are trying to honor the bookstore in various ways. We had leather bookmarks made as gifts, and we are considering starting a monthly book club," said Sarah.
Customers can shop the brand's collection of boots, including the bestselling Maggie and Margretta, and look forward to Houston-exclusive collections, including an upcoming boot with a Spacy City vibe. Those who want a more bespoke experience can enter the store's spacious customization room, where various leathers, fonts, and designs are available for inspiration.
