Houston's Best Hotel Suite
Houston's most over the top hotel suite? New penthouses bring luxe furnishings and a pillow menu
If you just adore a penthouse view, check out Hotel Derek's newly redesigned Penthouse Suites decorated with furnishings from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. The cost: $2,200 a night.
The two 1,200-square-foot suites are a collaboration with the furniture design and manufacturing house as well as Texas-based design firm Flick Mars.
"We really want these two penthouse suites to offer our guests even more than they expect through service and design," Shawn Gracey, managing director of Hotel Derek, said in a statement. "During the past two years, our renovation and rebranding has been focused squarely on creating an environment that gives our guests all the comforts of home.
The new suites also boast 46-square-foot private balconies, Texas-sized bathrooms, down bed linens and a pillow menu.
"These penthouse suites bring new meaning to living the 'sweet' life,' " she added.
The penthouse interiors feature color tones of gray, cream and blue with pops of bold yellows and deep plums. Mirrored furnishings and stainless steel fixtures serve as accent pieces throughout the two suites, which are designed exactly alike.
Most of the furniture and accessories are from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams' fall 2014 collection and are available at the nearby Highland Village store.
The new suites also boast 46-square-foot private balconies, Texas-sized bathrooms, down bed linens and a pillow menu for guests to select from at arrival, wet bars, complimentary Wi-Fi and office spaces.
