Houston Texans hunks prepare to show off their bodies — and style — on the catwalk
Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has certain dress standards for his team when traveling. Sports jackets and crisp shirts are a must. But on Nov. 1, when the beefy NFL stars step out on the fashion catwalk at "Una Notte in Italia," you can be assured that their sartorial splendor will soar far past the on-the-road fashion dictates.
For the last several weeks, Texans headliners have been dropping in at Festari for Men for fittings for their runway splash during the evening benefiting Bo's Place. Those on-field hyperstrong compression pants and high-tech shoulder pads will be replaced by custom suits, dinner jackets and more casual wear with labels such as Coppley, Loro Piana and Luciano Moresco.
Inside linebackerBrian Cushingwas the most recent Texan in the shop, where he selected a contemporary cashmere jacket and fitted slacks by Zegna. As Debbie Festari observed, "The younger guys love to show the hard work they put into their bodies!" Debbie and Rudy Festari serve as honorary chairs and major domos behind the scenes of this popular fundraiser.
Diane Caplan and Megan Sutton-Reed chair the fundraiser at the Omni Houston Hotel, which will for the first time benefit Bo's Place.
Reprising their runway antics from last year will be Matt Schaub, Owen Daniels and J.J. Watt. Making their debut will be Chris Myers, Duane Brown, Kareem Jackson and Cushing.
Not to be outshined, the business community contributes its share of runway chic to the proceedings. Among the gents lining up for Bo's Place are chef Charles Clark, Bo's Place chairman Richard Kroger, designerJonathan Blake, Texans COOCal McNair and businessmen Nick Stefanakis, Butch Mach and Ryan McCord.
