Fashion Trendsetters
Top fashion trendsetters get ready for fall with sneak preview of hot new accessories
What: Dinner party and preview of pre-fall collection.
Where: Saint Cloud.
The 411: Cecelia Marquez and Jessica Rodriguez, owners of the hip Rice Village lifestyle boutique, introduce their pre-fall collection from new and interesting designers at a fun dinner party for some of Houston's top young fashion tastemakers. Matt Johns designed the invitation, with the words "We have a pre-fall story to tell you....," enclosing it in a vintage book that was delivered to each guest, and planned the dinner, with a long table that ran nearly the length of the store, accented with tall pink votive candles.
Brasil owner Dan Fergus catered the Latin-themed dinner with overflowing platters of tamales with traditional (chicken) and unusual (butternut squash) stuffings, accompanied by mango salsa and a variety of dips and sides. For dessert, Tallent Ricca served her delicious bite-size macaron ice-cream sandwiches — the chocolate and peanut butter version was quickly gobbled up.
Who: Fashion bloggers Monica Abney of Classy & Fabulous, Ashley Rose of Sugar & Cloth, Roz Pactor of My Red Glasses, Yvonne Guidry of Spoiled Latina, Michael Mandola, Sarah Gabbart, Sarah Jawda and Saba Jawda admired handbags by French designer Jerome Dreyfuss, clutches from Clare Vivier, accessories from Marie Turnor, dresses and scarves from LemLem (the label founded by model Liya Kebede), and distinctive jewelry from Arielle De Pinto.
