The Mommy Stylist
"Mom" jeans can be sexy: Stylish, figure-flattering denim for any shape
Those poor, maligned "mom" jeans. They were supposed to prevent muffin top and camouflage hips, butts and thighs — all the while remaining stylish. But it all went horribly wrong — until now.
Today, there are myriad denim styles to help hide whichever body part(s) are not behaving the same way they did during those pre-pregnancy years. However, it still takes time to find the perfect pair; you definitely have to try on several. But just like a wedding gown — and a spouse, for that matter — you know when you've found "the one."
Despite the rising popularity of high-end denim lines, flattering, sexy jeans don't have to cost a fortune — although paying a bit more for a style that makes you feel like a million bucks is worth every penny.
So, with a mom's specific jean needs in mind — functionality, durability, forgiving styles and fabrics, comfort, and the all-important butt-crack-concealing ability — we found some pairs that will make you feel as sexy as you did before the kids arrived. And that muffin top? Forget about it.
Trouser jeans are perfectly suited for a pear shape. Because the fabric isn't tight on the thighs, it makes your bottom half look slimmer. ($24.97 Old Navy [https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=85768&vid=1&pid=868409002])

The boldest style is the Abbie Boot, which has an extended and scalloped front. According to the release, the embroidery is inspired by bluebonnets.Photo courtesy of Kendra Scott
The Sarah Boot moves the scalloping to the embroidery and features the same moon phase designs over the foot.Photo courtesy of Kendra Scott
The men's boots are simpler and look more work-ready, although this suede begs to differ.Photo courtesy of Kendra Scott
