Tapestry Gala hauls in a whopping $900,000 for Interfaith Ministries
Applause, applause for Shazma and Arshad Matin, Paula Sutton and Bill Gross, who led Interfaith Ministries annual Tapestry Gala to a successful closure that saw $900,000 in proceeds.
The ballroom of the Hilton Americas-Houston saw 700 supporters pour in to raise funds and salute gala honorees Marie and Vijay Goradia. Also recognized was the Rev. L. James Bankston, a senior board member who received a tribute from Bill King.
Through a number of musical performances by Kenneth Gayle Productions, the program celebrated the diversity of the city in cultures, ethnicities and faith traditions. Presiding over the evening was emcee Lisa Malosky.
Supporters included Philamena and Arthur Baird, Neda Ladjevardian, Charles Foster, Joyce and Arthur Schechter, Aziz Jamaluddin, Kim and David Ruth, Bimia and Swatantra Jain, Leena and Ash Shah, Chase Untermeyer, Bill Goldberg, Kay and Fred Zeidman and Regina Rogers.
