$12,900 worth of Kendra Scott jewelry sells in two hours and Dress for Success benefits
What's a spring wardrobe without a multi-tiered floral necklace or dangly earrings, perhaps even a honking floral ring? These must-haves were hot items at the Kendra Scott Jewelry boutique in Rice Village when the namesake jewelry designer swooped in from Austin for a cocktail event benefiting Dress for Success.
Scott donated 50 percent of the proceeds from the evening to Dress for Success, reason enough for philanthropically-minded shoppers to spend, spend, spend. Dress for Success' young professionals arm Women of Wardrobe took over the boutique 130 strong, gleefully mixing it up with the attractive jewelry designer.
Fueling their shopping prowess were cocktails featuring Deep Eddy Vodka and light bites from Hungry's, Sartori Cheese and Celebrity Cupcakes.
The event raised $8,800 for Dress for Success Houston counting donations and new memberships. That translated into $12,900 in jewelry sales in a matter of hours.
Filling their shopping bags and trying on the colorful pieces were Women of Wardrobe president Kristy Bradshaw, KPRC news ace Rachel McNeill and mom Monica McNeill, KTRK anchor Sharron Melton, Hannah Lonegran, Kari Govin, Laura LaRue, Heather Dominigue, Jacquie Baly, Hasti Taghi and Lindsey Brown.
