Houston's best gardens: Rienzi's never looked lovelier than on this spring night
What: The Rienzi Spring Party.
Where: In the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's house museum for European decorative arts and paintings and on the grounds around the swimming pool.
The 411: "Serata dei Fiori, an Evening of Flowers, Family and Friends" set a rich floral tone for the evening that saw the antique-filled home and gardens blossoming with sweeping blankets of tulips, roses, peonies, delphiniums and more — the handiwork of florist Jeff Bradley and landscape architect David Samuelson. Party chairs Fran Fauntleroy, Lara and Parker Fauntleroy, Shelley and Mitch Cox and Glenda Grainger orchestrated the evening that raised more than $155,000 for Rienzi's operating budget.
Lead contributors to the fundraising were principal underwriter Sue Trammel Whitfield and grand underwriters Isla and Tommy Reckling, Cindy and Jim Thorp and Barbara W. Winston.
Who: Savoring the scene and the cocktail buffet from Catering by Culinaire were guests including Angie and John Reckling, Cliffe Reckling, Annie Amante, Pat Breen, Lesli and John Giannukos, Christiana and Luke McConn, Lucy and Hayden Rieveschl, Rienzi director Katherine Howe and MFAH director Gary Tinterow.
