Houston park milestone and Port of Houston anniversary celebrated in triple threat luncheon

Where: In an open-sided party tent at Sam Houston Park, the Heritage Society's home.
The 411: On a beautiful spring day, the Heritage Society celebrated its 60th anniversary along with the 115th anniversary of the city's first municipal park and the 100th anniversary of the Port of Houston. With the latter in mind, Port Director Janiece Longoria was guest speaker, sharing insights on the port's history and its role today in the city's economy. Laura Gibson chaired the event while KHOU Channel 11 news anchor Lisa Hernandez served as mistress of ceremonies.
