Houston designer, Britney Spears make a splash during star-studded Los Angeles fashion week
Having shown a collection of all-white gold-embroidered gowns for spring at New York Fashion Week, Danny Nguyen has come over to the dark side — and the West Coast — for fall.
The Houston designer unveiled his new collection at the opening night of Art Hearts Fashion in Los Angeles and it matched several red-hot runway trends, with see-through styles, intricate beadwork (a Nguyen specialty), and an emphasis on black gowns and cocktail dresses.
Nguyen was among a number of designers to showcase collections at the week-long series of runway shows at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Held during Los Angeles Fashion Week, the event, which combines art, philanthropy, and fashion, benefits AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which works to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote sexual health.
Attracting the most attention during the week was singer Britney Spears, who was on the front row at designer Michael Costello's Stello show with new boyfriend, Sam Asghari, in their first public appearance together. His sister, model Faye Asghari, walked in the Stello runway show.
Spears, 35, met Asgari, a 23-year-old model and fitness instructor, in a video for her hit song, "Slumber Party."
