H-Town movers and shakers have a Goode time at opening of vintage furniture shop
H-Town movers and shakers turned out in force to help Lynn Goode celebrate the relocation of her namesake Lynn Goode Vintage Furniture + Decorative Arts shop.
You might remember that the peripatetic entrepreneur opened her Colquitt Street art gallery in 1988 and eventually sold it for a move to Marfa. There, she created the Marfa Book Co. and co-founded the Crowley Theater. She's been back in Houston since 2010.
Goode opened her mid-century modern furniture and decorative arts gallery in 2012 and moved to the new location at 3637 W. Alabama earlier this month. With a trove of desirable furnishings from Frank Lloyd Wright, Adrian Pearsall, Charlotte Perriand, Mies van der Rohe and Tommi Parzinger, guests had plenty to talk about at the opening party.
Celebrating Goode's new digs last week was a colorful coterie of art aficonados, bon vivants and aesthetes that included Lauren Rottet, Christy Karll, Kimberly Gremillion, Susie and Sanford Criner, Matt Johns, Cathy Cagle, Nick Espinosa and Carlos Meltzer, Sis Johnson, Page Kempner, Richard Dawson and Paige Pecore.
