A dramatic dinner builds the hunger for the Alley's A Few Good Men
With the Guantanamo Bay setting of the Alley Theatre's A Few Good Men in mind, theater patrons and sponsors were treated to a pre-performance dinner that reflected a Caribbean esthetic. Nearly 200 broke bread together in the Alley's Fondren Rehearsal Studio prior to opening night of writer Aaron Sorkin's captivating drama.
City Kitchen put on the spread that included smoked and pulled Berkshire pork, served with homemade chipotle barbecue sauce and a southern hominy souffle.
The real meat of the gathering came in remarks by Alley managing director Dean Gladden and Alley artistic director Gregory Boyd's introduction of visiting artists associated with the show and remarks about Sorkin’s career and writing style.
Gearing up for the performance were Brian Teichman and Andrew Cordes, Margaret Alkek Williams and Jim Daniel, Jeff Early, Patty Hubbard, Carmen and Butch Mach, Sharyn and Jim Weaver, Jana and Scotty Arnoldy and Beth Madison with Ralph Burch.
