Big-name celebrity chef releases the menu for his new Houston restaurant — disclaimer and all
If news of Bradley Ogden's foray into the Houston dining scene didn't catch your attention, then the Funky Chicken menu that the farm-to-table celebrity chef recently released on Facebook is sure to make mouths water.
As the name might imply, this won't be your average chicken chain: Crispy buttermilk-battered birds and mashed potatoes and gravy share the regular menu with healthier options like rotisserie roasted chicken, sandwiches, salads and wraps.
A menu disclaimer reminds customers that "a lot" of the menu ingredients are "all natural, organic, chemical free, farm friendly & sustainable."
Other highlights include a chicken pot pie (customers can choose from individual, medium or a $20.99 large), spicy boneless wings and southern staples like slaw, cornbread and buttermilk biscuits.
A menu disclaimer reminds customers that "a lot" of the menu ingredients are "all natural, organic, chemical free, farm friendly & sustainable." For non-meat-eaters, a Gardein vegetarian chicken option is available for substitution.
And that doesn't even touch on breakfast, available daily until 11 a.m. Expect classics like quiche, biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles, plus fresh fruit, steel cut oatmeal, egg-topped pot pies, griddle cakes and house-made chicken hash.
Bradley Ogden Hospitality representative Tony Angotti told Eater that the restaurant is expected to open in April or May — along with higher-end concept, Bradley's Fine Diner — in a Heights Boulevard shopping center just south of I-10.
