Life Emulates TV
Who wore it better? First lady Michelle Obama emulates The Good Wife at State of the Union
Life imitated art — or at least TV — when first lady Michelle Obama appeared at the State of the Union address Tuesday night in a smart tweed suit worn by attorney Alicia Florick in The Good Wife.
Viewers of the hit CBS series quickly noted that Obama's two-piece Michael Kors suit was worn by actress Juliana Marguiles, who portrays the wife of a disgraced politician who this season is running for office as Illinois attorney general, in a previous episode.
The jacket, with an origami-inspired portrait collar, two-way front zip and three-quarter sleeves, was on sale for $797 on the Neiman Marcus website — reduced from $1,595. But it quickly sold out once the comparison was made.
Who wore it better? That's the discussion on Twitter. What do you think?
