Enjoy your recent stay — or staycation — at Hotel Sorella CityCentre?
You aren't alone: The Houston hotel has been ranked by Condé Nast Traveler as No. 2 on a list of the top Texas Hotels & Resorts, coming in just after the luxurious, Philip Johnson-designed Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Dallas.
This is the second consecutive year that Hotel Sorella, a concept built in 2009 by the locally-owned Valencia Group, has been the only Houston hotel recognized in the publication's Condé Nast Traveler Gold List. The Gold List features what's deemed to be the top hotels, resorts and cruise lines in the world with only 510 total selected from around the globe.
For the ranking, the magazine compiles the survey responses of nearly 47,000 readers. Visitors nod to Sorella's classic luxury, modern minimalism and high style, its rooftop pool with draped cabanas and on-site amenities like Bistro Alex and Monnalisa Bar, plus a convenient location — right in the midst of a bustling shopping district with easy access to the highways.
Hotel Sorella received higher ratings than other Lone Star mainstays like Lake Austin Spa Resort, Mokara Hotel & Spa, Ritz-Carlton in Dallas, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek and the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk.
