Schaub's Loss
Texans are a big weapon short: Owen Daniels out for the Sunday Night showdown
CHICAGO — Matt Schaub will be without one of his favorite targets for the Sunday Night Football showdown against the Chicago Bears.
Tight end Owen Daniels is inactive, sidelined by the hip injury that's plagued him all week. So the Texans play against one of the best defenses in football without Schaub's security blanket.
Owens is in the midst of the best season of his career with 37 catches for 478 yards and five touchdowns through eight games. With his loss, Garrett Graham (10 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown) and James Casey (21 catches for 211 yards and a touchdown) become even more vital to the offense.
After Andre Johnson's 42 catches and Daniels' 37, no other Texan has more than 21 receptions.
Houston is now without a starter on both offense and defense with nose tackle Shaun Cody declared out early in the week. And of course, the Texans have been missing the season-sidelined Brian Cushing since Oct. 8.
