ESPN shows its arrogance with racist Jeremy Lin headline, while Kim Kardashiantries to date him

Jeremy Lin, the young Asian-American point guard for the New York Knicks, is breaking records, upsetting stereotypes and making headlines left and right. Some of the headlines are now even making headlines — particular the unbelievably offensive "Chink in the Armor" one ESPN put up on some of its websites Friday night (the sports leader is already in full crisis apology mode) after Lin committed nine turnovers in loss.
Skills on the basketball court aren't the only things Lin has going for him though:
- Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and political pundit, owns a Lin jersey. During an interview on Fox News, Palin gushed, "I mean, talk about an all-American story where sort of the underdog, you know, but works so hard, just erased all the stuff out there on the periphery in his life."
- Kim Kardashian, the celebrity who already has a notch on her bedpost from NBA player Kris Humphries, is rumored to have arranged a date with Lin through her publicist. A friend of Kardashian told MediaTakeOut that the celebrity "thinks [Lin] is cute, and she's good friends with [Lin's teammate Carmelo Anthony's wife] Lala. It's going to be a double date."
- Nike has created a "Linsanity" edition Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 sneakers for Lin to wear, according to CounterKicks.
So, did the Houston Rockets make a huge mistake or what?
