Cardinal DiNardo shares a magical Christmas story and Catholic Charities earns$210,000
We love the image of Cardinal Daniel DiNardo enchanting a ballroom full of children at Catholic Charities' third annual benefit luncheon "A Cardinal's Christmas." The youngsters and their parents gathered around as he entertained them with a magical Christmas story.
It was a magical day indeed as the event raised a record $210,000 for the charity's children and family services.
Filling River Oaks Country Club with the spirit of Christmas were the sounds of the St. Laurence Youth Choir and the St. Michael Catholic School for Children's Choir. Young guests and the young-at-heart joined in Christmas-themed craft activities and then all sat down for a festive lunch.
The benefit was chaired by Roseann Rogers and husband Dr. Aashish Shah with success guaranteed by underwriting chair Souad Malouf Bejjani and underwriters Reinette and Stan Marek and Mikki Hebl and David Harvey.
Soaking up the holiday spirit were guests including Catholic Charities president and CEO Bonna Kol, board members Elizabeth Husseini, Gene Reed and Clark Baker as well as longtime supporters Raye White, Trini Mendenhall Sosa and Frank Sosa, Alice and Philip Burguieres, Deana and Lawrence Blackburn and Michelle and Hector Herrera.
