Schmoozing in a warehouse
Round two: The CultureMap anniversary party was just too big for one story
The CultureMap team had such a rocking success in our first year of taking on the city's online media scene that we simply had to celebrate and share the joy. Which we did on Tuesday night when so many scenesters partied through our offices that we wanted to share more of the night with you.
To recap, close to 600 CultureMap fans crawled through our warehouse office space. Our good neighbors, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, provided the kegs, Pura Vida provided the tequila and the Buffalo Bayou Partnership loaned us their spanking new pontoon boat for moonlight tours of the city's downtown waterway. Beyond the savory pizzas from Piola and the yummy cupcakes from Sprinkles, the boat tours were by far the hit of the night.
Editor-in-chief Clifford Pugh and managing editor Chris Baldwin joined the CM family in welcoming a diverse mix that included MFAH curator Christine Starkman, the Craft Center's Mary Headrick, social types such as Gabriela and Daniel Dror, Courtney Hopson and Caroline Kenney, gallerists Barbara Davis and Wade Wilson, PR pros Jeremy Little, Lauren Levicki, Susan Farb Morris and Stuart Rosenberg and fans of CM including Beverly and Dr. John Berry, Lane and Bob Schultz, Chad Ferrell, Katie and Pat Oxford and Michael Garfield.
