Local art lovers recently gathered at Houston’s iconic Corinthian Hotel to admire the timeless art collection of Kristin Saleri, as well as the temporary exhibit on display — “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition.”
The cocktail reception, appropriately called “An Evening of Celestial Majesty” hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Nansen G. Saleri, displayed original pieces by Kristin Saleri (1915-2006) that have been described as “an inexplicably harmonious fusion of Eastern mysticism and Western impressionism.”
Saleri was highly lauded and awarded over the span of her prolific career and her art has been acquired by many museums including Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum, Ankara State Museum, Paris Centre Pompidou: Musée National d'Art Moderne, and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon.
Guests eagerly took in “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition,” is in its final week before departing to its next stop in Hangzhou, China.
