Pretty in Pink at Hotel ZaZa: The guys and gals stepped out in style for theKomen Foundation
The party crowd heated things up at Hotel ZaZa Thursday night as several hundred summer sirens and soldiers gathered on the pool deck to celebrate the kickoff of the 21st anniversary of the Houston Komen Race for the Cure.
"Party in Pink" was the theme of the evening benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. While a good number of whiz kids turned out in various forms of pink attire (loved the pink shades worn by Ondina Aguirre and Rebecca Shiapetta), there were those who simply couldn't find a single bit of pink in their closets.
Not to worry as there were plenty of specialty pink cocktails and pink-laced mini cupcakes from Sprinkles. Further sustenance was provided by Monarch Bistro chef Adam West.
Leading the lineup of hosts for the evening were Benji Homsey, president of Z Resorts Management and Development; Hotel ZaZa GM Matthew Nuss and director of brand marketing and communications Lauren Manford.
Pounding the pavement for the cure takes place Oct. 1 with the starting gate located at Sam Houston Park. This year's ambitious but reachable goal is $3 million. As of Friday, more than $100,000 had been raised.
Joining the pink-hued scene were Rachel Walton, Hasti Taghi, Lia Vallone, Carrie Carson, Bridget Boggess, Crystin Pactor, Tod Eason, Corbett Parker, Kim Padgett, Christine Goins, Sarah Tucker, John Rentz, Jon Pecore, Catarina Cron and Andrew Seerden.
