30 years of fashion, 1,000 scholarships — Brentwood hosts well-dressed stylelovers & models
Ladies and gents, dressed to the hilt, packed the ballroom of the Hilton Americas-Houston for the 30th annual Brentwood Scholarship Luncheon & Macy's Fashion Show.
More than 900 supporters of the Brentwood Baptist Church scholarship program turned out to raise more than $170,000 dollars, earmarked for college scholarships. Since its inception, the fundraising event has helped send more than 1,000 students to college. The Brentwood Community Foundation sponsors the popular event.
Lamar Frazier and Mittie Anderson chaired the midday fete for which State Rep. Sylvester Turner served as master of ceremonies.
This was the 14th consecutive year that Macy's has provided a high-energy fashion show, produced by Lenny Matuszewski and Tamara Bonar.
The well-heeled crowd included Brentwood pastor Joe Ratliff and wife Doris, Joan and Dr. Robert Austin, David F. Jones, Terri and Terrence Gee, Esther Brown, Kristyn Page, Erika Rachal, Shawn Thierry, Kim Roxie, Glenda Hopkins, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and State Rep. Alma Allen.
