Houston Texans standouts and local TV news stars party together in a hotel for a Cure
What: The Blue Cure Foundation's third annual fundraiser.
Where: Hotel ZaZa's Monarch restaurant.
The 411: It seemed that everyone had the blues — at least fashion blues — at the benefit packed with 350 partygoers, each giving a nod to the night's favored color and the "Rhythm & Blues" theme. Even the spirits were blue with servings of Moscow Mules and 10 Cane Blue Hawaiians. And how about the blueberry mousse and the blue crab that topped the beet-cured salmon — just part of the taste temptations put forth by executive chef Jeff Axline.
Blue Cure founder Gabe Canales surrounded himself with a posse of supporters that included a bunch of Houston Texans — Duane Brown, Chris Myers, Brooks Reed, T.J. Yates, and Garrett Graham — and former Texan Kevin Walter. Houston Dynamo Mike Chabala was among the celebs that included KHOU Channel 11's Lily Jang, Ron Trevino, Mia Gradney and Chita Johnson. Amid the blue lighting and blue decor, these guests partied to the sounds of the Johnny Rodgers Band and DJ John Tran.
Who: Carolyn Farb, Dan Zimmerman, Debbie Festari, Parissa Mohajer, Vicki and Darren Caillet, Jayme Lamm, Safa Almustafa, Carlos Perez, Rebecca Chalmers, Dustin Roy, John Powers, Natalie Petratis and Debra Knight.
