Bravo reality TV show films Houston fundraiser with Bollywood glitz, Bachelorette castoff
The cameras were rolling when Cindi Rose and Dr. Monica Patel took over Lumen Lounge for a "Bollywood Blitz" fundraiser benefiting the non-profits Enslave No More and The Hope House. We're not talking local party press here, but rather reality TV filming what could be one of the most colorful episodes of Married to Medicine — Houston style.
The subjects of the program are still forbidden from discussing any aspect of the show but with so many cameras in action and so many releases to be signed, clearly something was up. And one can only assume that it was the series that is currently being shot in Houston. Bravo has announced that Married to Medicine — Houston, a spinoff of the popular reality series about hotshot doctors and their spouses, will be added to its schedule. No air date has been set.
Patel and Rose put the glam party together in only three days, bringing in a 300-strong cast of their own which helped raise $40,000 for the charities aimed at halting sex trafficking. The chairs were aided in their efforts by committee members Amanda Abiassi, Vanessa Derks, Angela Lipsey, Crystal Saldivar and Neera Patidar.
Bollywood glitz was the dress requisite and just about everyone, including men, obliged. The silks and satins shimmered. Slender arms were laden with glittering bangles and sparkling headpieces crowned many in the entourage.
The evening's delights included snake charmers with slithering serpents, models displaying the riches of Joe Vilaiwan jewelry and crystal-covered clutches by Connie Kwan-Wong, a photo booth by attorney Gregg Harrison, Indian drummers and a henna tattoo artist. To the crowd's delight, Patel, a cardiologist by day, performed a solo Indian dance.
The glittering entourage included Imad Khalil, Azar Talleghany, Lily Paxson and Enrique Salinas, David Fink, Gigi Huang, Dr. Pavon Grover, Beth Cassidy Garcia, Gregg Opekamp, Mahzad Mohajer and, in from Los Angeles, Erica Rose, sporting a new look in brown locks, arm-and-arm with Cory Shivar of ABC's The Bachelorette fame. Shivar was eliminated from the latest edition of the reality series Monday night.
