Young professionals rock into high gear as BMW Midtown showroom turns into a meet market
For the eighth annual Culture Collision, the showroom at Advantage BMW Midtown was transformed into meet-up central as more than 200 eager arts fans answered the call from Houston Young People for the Arts.
The Houston Symphony, Houston Museum of Natural Science and DiverseWorks were among the 16 non-profits that set up stations to entice this cultured crowd into greater involvement. Most of the participating groups either have or are planning a young professionals program such as Asia Society Texas Center, Houston Ballet and Society for the Performing Arts.
While guests learned about the offerings from the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, the Houston Arts Alliance and the like, they sipped on Texas peach cocktails from IZKALI Tequila and brewskies from Saint Arnold Brewing Company and supped on goodies from Phoenicia Specialty Foods. DJ Gracie Chavez provided the tunes that kept things lively.
YPs on the scene included Houston Downtown Alliance president and CEO Andrew Huang, Jaquel and Jeremy Andrews, Marcus Carter, Paul Pettie, Carey Kirkpatrick, David Rassin, Aimee Woodall, Michael Coppens, A.J. Mistretta and Shavonnah Schreiber.
